Tranquil water lilies float magically upon the surface of many of the unpopulated and unspoiled waterways. In June, they bloom and inspire a feeling of great relaxation. This feeling can be captured and preserved with a water lily picture. People often shy away from swamp lands, having heard folklore about mysterious creatures like the Jersey Devil. If you buck traditional wisdom and venture into areas like the New Jersey State Forests, perhaps by canoe, you will find the typical habitat of the water lily in a quiet backwater lake, undisturbed by currents. The lilies are often found growing in swamps surrounded by impenetrable forest land. Clumps of white water lily flowers brighten the dark waterscape here and there, and they create fantastic still-life photographs. Look down into the water's edge, and you may spot a beautiful red koi swimming by. You will often hear a cacophony of frogs. Or you might just spot a Blue Heron getting ready to push off if you find a more secluded spot.
