Gerbera Daisy (Gerbera Jamesonii): The close-up shot of this inspiring, large pink bloom provides sunny, summer scenery for any room. First discovered in 1880 by Robert Jameson while operating a gold mine in South Africa (Transvaal or Africa Daisy), specimens were sent to the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew in England (Barberton Daisy) and, soon afterward, were popularized by breeding programs in the Netherlands.
Today, the majority come from South America, where they are cultivated for use as cut flowers. Varieties differ in the massive array of available colors and the number of long outer rays and a tight group of short dish flowers in the center. The vase life lasts for only 14 days, but this pink gerbera daisy can indefinitely be captured on your wall to provide a high light intensity feeling that will keep you glowing!
