Call Waiting...or maybe the
opposite dilemma -- Have you
ever waited for a call? This
photograph captures the dating
delemma in the context of
modern technology. The
unknown subject arrived home
after work, eagerly deserving
all that the evening will hold.
She admires the pink rose she
received last evening from the
anticipated caller. She dresses
to the nines -- down to the
pearl jewelry she bought for
herself with this year's bonus
check. She pours herslef a
Manhattan cocktail while she
waits and unwinds from a hard
day at work. Time seems to
stand still forever, but during
that time, she reflects on who
she is, and she likes what she
feels. She is relaxed and
enjoying her own company. It
is the caller's loss. Tomorrow
will bring another night. She is
free to explore the possibilities
dressed to the nines -- and
equipped with her cell phone,
she can call whomever she
likes to meet her or not. The
forgotten caller has dilemmas
of his own. He really liked her,
but he is young, and he shies
away from commitment. The
speed to solve the dilemma is
facilitated through modern
technology, but the solution, as
always, lies totally from within
one's self and is the truly
formidable foe to this time-old
problem.
