Year of the Tiger -- 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998
It's impossible not to notice the unmistakable beauty and ferocity of
the colorful Siberian Tigers. In their home continent of Asia, they
are definitely the center of attention when present, but during the
20th Century, their population suffered major losses.
Consequently, they are an endangered species. Some can still be
found in Russia, but they are dangerously nearing extinction in
China.
Siberian Tiger fur is very long, thick and reddish/yellow -- with dark
black stripes. The underside is a brilliant white, and the tail is white
and black.
Sounds are one of life's important experiences. The Siberian Tiger
has a tail that produces a rattling sound, which is used to scare off
enemies or to warn others.
For sounds that are more relaxing, select Nature CD, and you will
find continuous, hour long recordings of tranquil natural sounds,
without pauses or other distracting sounds that we call civilization.
Deforestation is a threat to our acoustic ambiance as well.
